Assistant to the Director: Stephanie Dunaway
Pat has been with Heritage Preschool for more than 13 years. She has worked as both a teacher and an assistant director and now as director. With a passion for team building, Pat loves to foster strong relationships between students, teachers and parents. The highlight of her day is greeting arriving children and their families. She and her husband Greg enjoy spending time with their two dogs, Gracie and Tucker, and have one grown son who lives in Richmond.
Pat is assisted by Stephanie Dunaway, who has an education background as well as leadership experience. Stephanie and her husband Michael met in high school in Ohio, and have been very happily married for 12 years, 9 of those in Lynchburg. They have one daughter who attended HUM for 3 years. Stephanie feels blessed to be able to invest her time, skills, and experience into the preschool that has blessed her family, as well as that of many others.

Assistant Teacher: Lynn Phillips
Jill Coleman has been at HUM Preschool since 2007. She was an assistant teacher for 12 years, and is now entering a new role as the lead teacher of the 2-year-old classes. She is a mother of two, who loves the upbeat, high energy environment at HUM Preschool as well as working with the students on a daily basis.
Jill is assisted by Lynn Phillips, a grandmother of three and member of the HUM Preschool teaching family for seven years. Lynn loves the opportunity she has to remind her students how loved they are and enjoys watching and helping them form good social and academic foundations.

Assistant Teacher: Heather Hartsook
Debbie Arthur has been on staff at HUM Preschool since 2017. She has had the positions of a long-term substitute teacher and Assistant Teacher. This is her first year as lead teacher. Debbie cherishes the time she has with the students to teach them about the amazing relationship they can have with Jesus!

Assistant Teacher: Deanna Aultice
Susan Comerford has been teaching the 3-and 4-year-olds at HUM Preschool for four years and has been a member of HUMC for over 17 years. A mother of four, Susan enjoys watching her students discover the joy of learning on a daily basis. She has been married to her husband Larry for 25 years.
Susan is assisted by Deanna Aultice, a mother of three, who is in her 5th year working at HUM Preschool. The many hugs she receives from her students are one of her favorite parts of her job, as well as showing each of them how loved they are by her, and by God.

Kim Held has been teaching at HUM Preschool for more than 17 years. She loves working with the 3 and 4 year old students and teaching them about Jesus. She and her husband Carl have two children and three grandchildren who Kim visits whenever she has a chance. Kim says that her job is the best in the world and that there is nothing like teaching little ones about the amazing world in which they live.
Kim is assisted by Dana Rieley, mother of two adult sons. Working with preschoolers gives Dana the opportunity to observe her students mastering small skills and the accompanying sense of reward and accomplishment this brings.

Assistant Teacher: Nan Jacobs
Janeen Smith teaches the 4-year-old “Turtles” Class and has been at HUM Preschool since 2005. She is enriched on a daily basis by her students and says that they are the best part of what she does. A mother of three, Janeen also enjoys traveling, staying active and teaching Sunday School. She appreciates HUM Preschool’s commitment to innovative learning and is constantly inspired and challenged to try new things.

Assistant Teacher: Dawn Talley
Elaine Leitch has been a Pre-K teacher at HUM Preschool for almost 13 years. She feels deeply privileged to be able to teach her students something about God every day. Elaine and her husband of 35 years are both natives of Scotland and have three grown children as well as 12 chickens and one cat.
Elaine is assisted by Dawn Talley. Dawn has worked with children in various capacities for over 20 years. She loves their enthusiasm, sense of adventure and excitement for what each new day holds. She especially loves the opportunity at HUM to teach the children about Jesus and His great love for them!
